Someone is fucking with us.

News around Twitter today is the first episode of GoT S6 aired accidentally last night, for some viewers at least, and now there are spoilers posted on Reddit. I’ve seen the supposed spoilers. There’s a brief, poorly written synopsis (like, it refers to Theon as Rick) that’s mostly composed of stuff we know from preview clips, interviews, and entirely inevitable follow-ups to the Season 5 cliffhangers. No mention of the Boltons. No mention of anything happening in Meereen. The new information is logistically questionable at best.

Then there are a handful of photos which supposedly support the synopsis, and that’s where I am skeptical. There are three significant deaths: one of them has no image, one has an image which is credible, one has an image that I think is deceptive at best.

Basically…the way the synopsis describes this one death…doesn’t add up. In terms of logistics, it’s a stretch, at best. And the photo which supposedly supports this death, I think is not showing us the right character. Nope, I don’t think that’s him. I honestly don’t.

If someone is willing to fabricate evidence for one event, then I don’t exactly trust them to be telling the truth about others. It’s almost like they’re willing to make shit up because it’ll get GoT fans in a frenzy.

And that honestly pisses me off more than if someone actually told us what really happens in the episode. Deliberately getting people riled up over nothing is a pretty bullshit thing to do.

One of the big twists is believable, though it doesn’t really live up to the hype. Like I said, though, if someone’s willing to make shit up about a major character death, I won’t put it past them to Photoshop an image of something else.

And then there’s one image in the “leaks” that we’ve already gotten from HBO, so: whatevs.

Come Sunday evening, I look forward to telling you all how much of these “spoilers” were actually fabrications.
