This is what they’re willing to give us.

Well, HBO just released some info on the Season 6 premiere! We have an episode title!

Episode #51: “The Red Woman”

I am…surprisingly underwhelmed. The Red Woman. Yeah, I can see why HBO doesn’t mind giving us that.

We have an episode synopsis!

Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again.

Wow. So…nothing outside what we’ve already gotten from the promo materials. Really, nothing that wasn’t inevitable based on the S5 finale cliffhangers.

I DO, however, appreciate the summary they’ve released for the season:

Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of season five, including Jon Snow’s bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys’ near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei’s public humiliation in the streets of King’s Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.

Okay, I like the sound of that.

OOOOOH! Liam Cunningham elaborates on this theme at Entertainment Weekly!

“This season’s cool because it resets the chess board and people get partnered with new people,” Cunningham says. “Last year it was ‘worlds colliding.’ This year, it’s almost like you’re in a different drama series. There are new plans – and they’re enormous plans. There are new loyalties. There are new tensions. There are tensions between people where there were not tensions before. The words on the page are as delicious as what we’ve had in the past. And it’s culminating in some of the most remarkable television that’s ever been made. It’s astonishing.”

I’m really looking forward to all these people getting partnered with new people.

In all seriousness, though, “the Red Woman” probably refers to more than just Melisandre. She could also be Cersei, waiting at the dock in her pretty red gown! She could be the new Red Priestess in Meereen, although it may be a teensy bit too early for her introduction. She could be Brienne, painting the forest red with Bolton goons’ blood! She could be Sansa, with her red hair. BFish suggests we could be seeing Lyanna on her bed of blood, and that’s an idea, though I also think it’s a bit too early for that vision.

I’m really hoping we get an episode titled “the Pack Survives.”
